The Viagrow™ Upside Down Tomato Planter utilizes geotropism (gravity) to strengthen a plant’s stem and grow it with no need for trellis support. It has the added benefit of keeping the fruit or vegetables from laying on the soil where they are susceptible to pests and disease. Hang it anywhere in full sun for a bountiful harvest. Container holds up to 30 quarts of media or soil. Polyethylene fabric helps retain moisture evenly during summer months. Planting determinate tomato varieties have better compact growth than indeterminate varieties and have shown better success in the Upside Down Tomato Planter.

  • There are no instructions for the planter. I saw the holes on the bottom but where does the plant go On the side slits Even that is pretty small--since the bag is so big, can I put 2 tomato plants in one bag What if they are 2 different tomato plants--ie cherry and early girl
Hello Theda, Thank you for your questions. The Upside Down Tomato Planter can be used with 2 tomato plants but it will need to be watered and fertilized more often as there will be 2 plants to support. The variety of tomato you choose to grow will not be a problem but remember that some tomatoes are determinate finishing at a predetermined size & others are indeterminate and will continue to grow throughout the season. It may not be best to mix these 2 types. The plants need to be threaded through the slits in the side of the planter and then fill the rest of the planter up with a high quality soil. If you have any questions please let us know. Kindest Regards, Atlantis Hydroponics
