Community OutreachAtlantis Hydroponics believes in reaching out to the community and participating in a variety of ways. We have been involved in a number of programs to benefit many different groups, partnered with youth to help educate on everything from hydroponics to sustainability to buying local, taught numerous garden clubs, sponsored earth day festivities and clean-ups, and participated in local and sustainable farm programs. We are also proud members of Georgia Organics and the Progressive Gardening Trade Association - We were voted Most Progressive Store in 2008 by the PGTA! Local and Sustainable Farming and Agriculture is an important mission for so many in our ever increasing world of fast food. We support local farmers and markets by being part of Georgia Organics and showed that support at the 2009 conference with guest speaker Michael Pollan - Learn more about the Local Food Movement and Michael Pollan here! Grassroots Learning - Because Hydroponics is such a unique style of growing, we love getting the word out. Atlantis Hydroponics participates in a number of programs that help kids learn the benefits of plants and the relationship that we have with them.Take a trip to High Meadows and see their extensive hydroponic gardening project. Pictures and letters from the kids can be seen here! The Brownwood Rec Center in East Atlanta is a home away from home to many kids and teens. Atlantis teamed up with the Brownwood Recreation Center, a City of Atlanta Bureau of Recreation facility, to start the first ever Atlanta area program that teaches kids to learn the benefits of entrepreneurship and hydroponics. To help them along the way, we donated a complete indoor garden system for the center. The goal: to try and raise money for the kids to take a trip in the spring by growing fresh, organic produce and culinary herbs for local restaurants, even in the winter. The relationship was great... A better product for the consumer and business skills for some smart Atlanta kids! See The Growth Here.
