The Brownwood
Rec Center, a City of Atlanta
Bureau of Recreation facility is starting the first ever Atlanta
area program that teaches kids to learn the benefits of entrepreneurship
and hydroponics. Atlantis Hydro's finest, Johnathon Tescher,
and some very dedicated youth are out to prove the profitable
and economical benefits to growing hydroponically. The objective
is for the youth to organically grow, market, and sell their
produce. Since hydro is much more successful than soil these
kids are up and running and on their way to sucess.
We donated a complete indoor garden
system for the center; a 4 x 4 Tray w/ Stand, 70 Gallon Reservior,
and a 400 watt MH System. We are using Botanicare nutrients
and have sucessfully sprouted Arugula and Basil for our first
harvest. The team will be responsible for all aspects of the
project, from growing to packaging. Harvesting fresh, organic
produce and culinary herbs for local restaurants is easy and
consistent using hydroponics, even in the winter! With a little
sales, local business owners and consumers are sure to be
won over by these soon-to-be business saavy kids.
